Through this signature, the CNRS and UM6P show their willingness to deepen their existing cooperation and more particularly to promote exchanges and mobility of their researchers. This ambition will be reflected in the implementation of a programme to host staff (PhDs and post-doctoral students) in CNRS laboratories, as well as in a joint reflection on the co-financing of PhD and post-doctoral projects on themes identified by the two institutions, such as agronomy and soil-microbe interaction, economics and finance, and applied mathematics.
For the CNRS, this rapprochement is in line with the strategy of the CNRS Multiannual Cooperation Plan with Africa, which aims in particular to strengthen its collaborations – institutional arrangements, mobility, training of doctoral students – and thus to increase joint scientific production with its partners in North Africa.
