A committee of CNRS representatives met with a high-level Cameroonian delegation on the sidelines of the Cameroonian Research Week in France, following up on discussions previously held during a CNRS governance mission to Cameroon in spring 2022. An initial exchange was organised at the Embassy of Cameroon in France, during which CNRS researchers and Cameroonian researchers from the delegation were able to share their experiences and best practices on their cooperation projects.
These fruitful exchanges between the two teams were followed by a high-level meeting between the CEO of the CNRS and the Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation of Cameroon, at the end of which the two representatives signed a framework agreement for scientific cooperation. This agreement, signed as an extension of the actions undertaken within the framework of the CNRS Africa Plan, aims to facilitate the development of joint research projects and the mobility of CNRS scientists in Cameroon and Cameroonian researchers in France.
Finally, the CNRS, represented by Hervé Pennec for the African Studies Scientific Interest Group (GIS) and the director of the African Worlds Institute (IMAF), was able to present its actions in the human and social sciences in Cameroon, through a visit organised for the delegation to the Campus Condorcet, a French research hub in the human and social sciences.
