The CNRS and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Innovation of Colombia (MINCIENCIAS) signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) in the presence of Nobel Prize winner Serge Haroche to strengthen their scientific collaboration.
The CNRS is currently involved in various international research networks and projects in Colombia, particularly in the fields of human and social sciences and ecology and the environment. Researchers from the institution are involved in the international project on Amazonian biodiversity (CEBACOL) associated with Guyana and Brazil or in the international networks HITAL “Transatlantic History of Latin American Anthropologies”, and REHVIF “Living in the cities of the future”. Also noteworthy is the presence of the CNRS through a branch of the French Institute of Andean Studies (IFEA) in Bogotá in partnership with the National University of Colombia (UNAL).
